Artist Spotlight

Last Artist Spotlight featured aspiring singer/songwriter Marco Patitucci.

This week I'll be talking about established Director/Director of Photography/Filmmaker Rob Witt. He has done the most amazing work!!

The following is an excerpt from his website which can be found at www.robwitt.com

Since graduating from film school, Rob has begun working in LA as well. He fortunately landed an internship with world-class cinematographer Joseph Labisi (joelabisi.com), and has worked on some of the biggest music videos and commercial campaigns, with artists including, Akon, Snoop Dogg, T.I. and Lil Kim. He also has worked on videos with leading alternative rock/pop production company, Red Van Pictures with videos for artists like Green Day, Madina Lake, and The Blackout.

As a cinematographer he has recently shot around 15 music videos for artists like Young L, and Lil B of The Pack, The Jacka, This Time Next Year, and Sol Asunder. He also just shot a commercial for Def Jam recording artists Electrik Red, and operated on Green Day’s “Live @ The Fox Theater”, in Oakland.

Rob now specializes in Directing Music Videos and Narrative-Fiction/ Music Video/ Commercial Cinematography, though he still edits a lot of his own work. Developing his own style with light, color, the endless possibilities of a camera, the people he meets, the resources he can find, and the eclectic environment (THE BAY), he grew up in; he dares to be at the forefront of Digital Cinema. Artistic Integrity, and Respect are valuable to him and are shown through his work.

II think no one can put it better than Rob himself. He is so talented with the camera and has accomplished so much at such a young age. Keep your eyes open for him because we will all be hearing his name a lot in the future!! On top of that he is a super nice and down to earth guy!

So check out his site and Myspace. There are a lot of videos he has done on his site.
I've also included his 2009 Demo Reel of clips from projects he has worked on this year.
