Let's See How Far We've Come..

Just a line from a song thats stuck in my head.
Just been hanging out really, getting ready for launch but I'm so ahead of schedule I'm just waiting now.
Getting some tees and hats in soon, and some boxes.
Vending a show out in Hayward May 9. Gonna be awesome.
Got a photo shoot set-up for the next day, which I totally didn't know was Mother's Day until today.
Just got confirmed for two dates for MayhemFest 09. San Francisco July 11 and San Bernadino July 12. Basically won't be sleeping for 48 hours. Gotta do the SF show, straight to Bernadino then do that show, all in two days!
Working on a sick skate deck design with E*klipse! Gonna be awesome!
Also been trying to get an office so I can expand since everything is basically crammed in one tiny corner of a room. Really want to be able to spread things out.
Munny contest coming soon!! Can't wait! I have an awesome design drawn up!

And since my hard drive crashed a while ago, I lost all my music! So now I gotta fill it back up again. Slightly Stoopid and Sublime today! And an awesome chill mix I made. Tomorrow, 90's rap!

Giants Game

I was at the Giants game tonight and it was pretty good even though they lost to LA!
We had awesome seats about 10 rows back from the Giants dugout and there were some pretty good plays.
Anyways I managed to take a couple shitty iPhone pics.
From our seats.
Walking back after. I love the bridge at night.

Filler

I told myself I would post everyday. But I just woke up from a long nap and I'm not really feeling a super long post or anything.
The awesome guys over at TheFreshstock added the flyer for the bboy comp. to their events section. So go check that out and don't forget to check out the show. I'll have some new products.
Oh and I got some awesome photos from an E*Klipse Tha Champloo photo shoot. Apparently theres more to come but I think these came out great! Can't wait for out photo shoot!

Berkeley Hike

Today was awesome since I went on an amazing hike at Tilden in Berkeley. It was an awesome day too, weather was perfect.
Total I think the hike was about 7 miles and took about 4 hours but it went by pretty fast.
At one point I thought I saw a mountain lion and freaked out but it was just a deer haha. Damn I was hella scared for a couple seconds there.

Anyways I took my huge Panasonic Lumix camera and got some pretty cool shots.
There were some amazing view of the Golden Gate bridge but it was hazy and they didn't really come out. Too much fog over the Bay.

I actually got a bee in this shot! And the quality is awesome.

I'm super excited to be a vendor there. Its gonna be insane! I heard Red Bull and North Face are sponsoring?
So come check it out if you are gonna be in the Bay that weekend. It goes from 3-10pm and is only $10 with student ID. So amazing for the price!

New Tee Preview #2

Last Sunday I posted that there was a new tee design and that I was going to be showing weekly previews instead of just posting the design.
So here is this weeks preview. This is a new tee we are dropping hopefully lat summer/early fall. We'll see.
As you can tell it is a little different that what we normally carry, but I loved this design and a little variation is always good. I don't want to trap myself in a corner so early on with what kind of designs we produce.

Postcards!!

Yesterday I found a giant box of Capra postcards at my door. I ended up getting these done for free since there was some issues with the printer I was working with. So I got 500 free postcards!

I'll be everywhere passing them out starting May 20. I'll probably be needing some help as well.
Just giving you all a preview, and sorry about the glare and shitty iPhone picture.

Artist Spotlight

Last Artist Spotlight featured aspiring singer/songwriter Marco Patitucci.

This week I'll be talking about established Director/Director of Photography/Filmmaker Rob Witt. He has done the most amazing work!!

The following is an excerpt from his website which can be found at www.robwitt.com

Since graduating from film school, Rob has begun working in LA as well. He fortunately landed an internship with world-class cinematographer Joseph Labisi (joelabisi.com), and has worked on some of the biggest music videos and commercial campaigns, with artists including, Akon, Snoop Dogg, T.I. and Lil Kim. He also has worked on videos with leading alternative rock/pop production company, Red Van Pictures with videos for artists like Green Day, Madina Lake, and The Blackout.

As a cinematographer he has recently shot around 15 music videos for artists like Young L, and Lil B of The Pack, The Jacka, This Time Next Year, and Sol Asunder. He also just shot a commercial for Def Jam recording artists Electrik Red, and operated on Green Day’s “Live @ The Fox Theater”, in Oakland.

Rob now specializes in Directing Music Videos and Narrative-Fiction/ Music Video/ Commercial Cinematography, though he still edits a lot of his own work. Developing his own style with light, color, the endless possibilities of a camera, the people he meets, the resources he can find, and the eclectic environment (THE BAY), he grew up in; he dares to be at the forefront of Digital Cinema. Artistic Integrity, and Respect are valuable to him and are shown through his work.

II think no one can put it better than Rob himself. He is so talented with the camera and has accomplished so much at such a young age. Keep your eyes open for him because we will all be hearing his name a lot in the future!! On top of that he is a super nice and down to earth guy!

So check out his site and Myspace. There are a lot of videos he has done on his site.
I've also included his 2009 Demo Reel of clips from projects he has worked on this year.

My Day

I'm pretty bored and while there are HUGE things in the works right now for Capra, I felt like rambling on about something no one cares about for a bit.

Anyways today was a pretty awesome day. Some family came into town Saturday so Sunday we had a picnic at the lake while my 9 month puppy went swimming. Then had an awesome BBQ at night and hung out outside in the 70 degree weather..amazing!

So today wasn't the most eventful day but it was awesome because I spent about 80% of my day outside. I had a job interview for the new No Fear store they're putting in our mall. Honestly, I've had better jobs but I think it'll be fun and I need money!!! But I got the job. Pretty sweet..I train next week.

After that my aunt paid $55 to get my truck waxed, now its so purty!, bought me lunch and drove me to school cause I'm too lazy and usually walk since its close.

Class was gay but not too bad. I found out I have a D in Trig so that's awesome. Have to make a C by semester. Probably won't happen. But walked home, took my dog on a run in this beautiful weather and am currently outside writing this...I'm considering sleeping outside tonight. I feel like beautiful days like this can't be wasted.  Might hit up the gym later.

Anyways not the most eventful day but I love just hanging out anyways. I'm more of a chill person. Hope this wasn't too boring. I'll leave you with some pictures of my puppy.

Marley the first day we brought her home. I was living in Oceanside at the time. She was a rescue born in San Diego. She's 10 weeks old here.

Marley now. She's almost 10 months.
She's super into water now. She just learned how to swim.

Radio Show

So I was supposed to be a guest on an internet radio show last night. I was going to be talking about the line, and also how to stay up on current fashion trends. But something was wrong with the line and I kept getting disconnected when trying to call in. So I think we are working to reschedule. Bummer cause I was pretty excited about it. I'll keep you updated.

Capra "Office"

So I couldn't think of anything interesting to talk about and there isn't any huge blog-worthy news from Capra right now, so I though I'd share some pics of where I run Capra.
Super small and cramped but that's how it is.

Anyways, here's my desk where I draw, design, do business, whatever.

Just got more shelves, except they're too small. But I'm expecting some new hats and tees soon so I had to get something and I didn't have enough money to get the bigger one.

Main shelves, where all the current tees are, printer, even some sneak peaks as to what extras will be coming with each order. Believe me, there's a lot more!

Finally, preview of some prints I've been working on in spare time. They're all spray painted using Montana on thin white canvas. Been using Montana now for a couple months. They're amazing! Love the huge range of caps.
Anyways, hope that was semi-interesting. Promise I'll have better posts soon. Just wait til we launch! Things will pick up for sure.

Skate Decks

I've been working on some skate deck designs since I want to maybe get one going this summer. Since I've never designed decks before, these first few are pretty bad. Just wanted to post for a preview and to maybe get some feedback. I'll most likely print the left one first.

Wallpaper

I was bored and messing around on the computer and came up with this awesome background. Wood  texture was from a GoMedia Arsenal texture pack.
This is free to use. Rock it! It's my background.
Anyways, enjoy.

Coronado Trip

Hey, so I was in Coronado last weekend just visiting some of my old roommates. I had the best weekend ever! We stayed at this huge suite at the Hotel Del Coronado and they set up this awesome bonfire for us on the beach with a basket loaded with smores ingredients. So relaxing and the weather was awesome!

Me and my roommate Ashley in some creepy huge chairs in a hallway. The hotel is really old and haunted. Apparently some lady was staying in the hotel and committed suicide on the beach in 1892. Pretty creepy.
Ash and Jess on the beach. I used to live with them and a couple other girls when I went to San Diego State last year. Jess is rocking a new Capra shirt. Awesome!
We didn't take a whole lot of pictures. Mostly just hanging out, hot tub, shopping, relaxing. Me and Ash in the room after we got kicked out of the hot tub. We had a couple friends over for a Jaegar/Redbull party. Classy. And I'm doing some work. Usual.

Custom Munny Contest!!

So I'm sponsoring this awesome contest hosted by worldclassrivals.com. There are some totally awesome, well-established brands sponsoring this event, like Linty Fresh, 410 BC, FuzzyInk, The Printed Mind, Validus Apparel, We Are Slaughterhouse, Capra Clothing Co. and more.

Register, pay $25 and you will be sent your own black 7" Munny. Customize however you want and take a picture to turn in by May 25th, winners will be picked June 1.

So if you don't know what a Munny is, they are blank vinyl toys produced by KidRobot. You can customize them and there are contests and even shows all over where you can show off your custom Munny. They're pretty cool. Here is a picture.
So anyways, I'm one of the sponsors for the contest and you have to see the prizes, they are ridiculous!!!

Anyone can register, it's only $25 and you get to keep your Munny after. Register Here. I just registered myself.

New Posters!

Hey, So I just picked up these new posters over in Oakland today.
I'm not really sure what I'll be using these for but they're pretty awesome, I have to say.
They're 11" x 17" and a lot thicker than what I expected. Basically just the Spring 09 lineup.
Might just number 'em and give em away to the first however many orders as a limited edition set. Still not sure but I am positive that I will be doing these for every release.
Check em!!!

New Design!!

Yay! We got a new design. But! I'm going to be keeping this one a secret. You probably won't be seeing it until late summer, so I'm gonna have a little fun with it before it releases.
Every Sunday, I'll be giving you a preview of the design just cause I feel like switching it up and its boring to just release it.
This design is very different from the rest of my line, but I loved it and I think it will be good to get some variety going in my shirts. Plus I needed some color.
So here it is. See if you can figure it out and next week there will be another clip so it'll be like a puzzle. Fun!!
So there it is. Take it in. It's beautiful.

Oh and Happy Easter!! Rage, get wasted, eat chocolate and think about bunnies. It's what Jesus would have wanted.
Peace

Artist Spotlight

Heyo! So I'm gonna be doing these spotlights on the artists/musicians that are sponsored by Capra Clothing Co.
It is no particular order. They are all amazing at what they do and I'm totally grateful they are a part of this company. I'd like to think of us as a family, we are all friends and we work together so we can thrive individually.

So first spotlight. An aspiring singer/songwriter and good friend Marco Patitucci.
He is from the Bay Area. He is 22 and started playing guitar in 2005.
His influences range widely from Weezer and Johnny Cash to Brian McKnight and Boyz II Men.
He describes his style as a combination of Fergie and Jesus. Awesome.

He is ridiculous on guitar and plays mellow, lyrically driven songs that incorporate his experiences and humor.
You can check out his music on either his Myspace or Youtube pages (Youtube is more current and has more music and videos).
Please check him out, follow his music, and stay posted! He'll be doing some local shows soon.

Button Packs

I've been working with a friend over at FuzzyInk, John Paul and we've been discussing doing some custom button packs for the line. Well today I got an awesome preview of how they turned out. He does amazing work!
There is going to be lots of series coming out. Sort of a collectable thing, so make sure you start your collection off right with Series 1!

Check out his line, FuzzyInk. He has some cool tees and awesome mustache button packs!! Everyone should own one of those!

These will be available starting on May 20.

Freshstock Feature

This feature was a couple weeks ago on thefreshstock.com, an awesome site run by some local Bay Area guys. They're awesome and love to feature up-and-coming hip-hop clothing lines. Too many dashes in that sentence.
So anyways, here is the bio with pics that I sent in. It was a lot of fun doing this and hopefully in the future, you will see Capra in a lot more blogs and such.

Capra Clothing Co. was founded in 2008 by Kim Suarez, a Bay Area art design student. It is an extremely new line, with an official launch date of May 2o, 2009. It reflects the hip-hop/skate streetwear of the Bay Area and focuses on bold and intricate designs.

BigCartel

Thanks to the Freshstock for getting Capra Clothing Co. its first feature. This site is awesome and it's great to see so much support for up-and-coming brands. It's definitely a must for anyone interested in hip-hop fashion and underground clothing lines.
